IN THE NEWS: Women’s Day event examines corporate social responsibility

Sat 6 Mar 2010

Victoria MP Denise Savoie is celebrating women’s contribution to society at her International Women’s Day event.

“Over the years, through this event, I’ve tried to bring women together to share their experiences with up-and-coming young women to inspire and support each other,” she said in an e-mail.

“For me, International Women’s Day is to reflect on how women, past and present, have been successful in shaping our country.”

This year, Coro Strandberg, principal of Strandberg Consulting and part of the Victoria Values-Based Business Network, is the keynote speaker.

Savoie, the first woman elected as MP for Victoria, in 2006, will host the free event on Sunday, March 14.

It runs from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Ambrosia Conference and Event Centre, 638 Fisgard St. Call 250-363-3600 to reserve a seat.
