Welcome
Dear constituents,
Thank you for granting me the privilege of representing you in the House of Commons.
It is truly an honour to have this opportunity to give back to Victoria, a place I’ve been lucky to call home for more than 20 years. In return for the trust you’ve placed in me, I will work hard and continue acting on the same environmental and social justice values that guided me as a community activist and city councillor.
I was delighted when Jack Layton, Leader of Canada’s NDP, asked me to be critic for the areas of post-secondary education and literacy, and deputy critic for human resources (for training). You will find information about some of the work I’m doing in these areas on this web site, as well as in my regular mailings.
I am grateful for the many suggestions and ideas you’ve already sent me and I look forward to your continuing feedback. Your thoughts and opinions are important to me, and inform the work I do.
You might notice that my web site has recently been redesigned. Along the left are some new “buttons” and menus that I hope will make it easier to find the information you’re looking for. These buttons reflect some of the issues my constituents have told me are most important to them.
My hope is that this site will provide a quick and easy way for you to learn about the work I’m doing on your behalf, both at home and in Parliament. We are adding to and updating this site frequently, so please do return often to see what’s new. Remember to check www.ndp.ca as well for news from other members of the NDP caucus.
